Shri Jitendrabhai Thakker (Ahmedabad)
Shri Jitendrabhai Thakker is a multi- faceted personality. Apart from being a qualified Lawyer, he is a writer, an artist, a director, a promoter of Art & Culture, a Dramatist, a Govt. Bureaucrat, etcSri Thakker is one of the sole crusader for the unity of Performing Artists.
Such a personality , Shri Jeetendrabhai is born on 31st August, 1955 at Dudhaka.dist. Mehasana, Gujarat .
Father of Shri Jeetandrabhai is a person of principles and was a honest teacher. At the age of 81 to-day, he is still active socially. Shri Jitendrabhai passed his childhood at Patan and Palanpur. After completing his S.S.C., he moved to Ahmedabad.
Shri Jeetendrabhai , at present, performing duties as Asstt. Director of “Youth & Culture Deptt” of Government of Gujarat. He has trained many new artists and have Lions share in creating, propagating many Schemes sponsored by State Govt for the Promotion, training,exposure, welfare, etc of artists.
Shri Jeetendrabhai’s involvement with various activities can be seen as under:
- Chief Editor of Art Magazine ‘Kala Samput’;
- Social work for Gujarati stage and TV Artists;Cultural Tour at USA, UK, Dubai, Mascut, Bankok, Singapore, Malayasia, etc;
- Board Member of Drama Sensor Board, Government of Gujarat.Well known stage and TV Artist, writer and director.
- Crusader of the unity of Artist of Mumbai and Ahmedabad; became a Bridge and created the atmosphere of mutual cooperation between two centers;Regularly publishes the Directory of approx 250 Performing artists from Mumbai & Ahmedabad detailing their contact datas;
- On every 31st of August, his birthday, celebrates the day as the Day of Artists from Ahmedabad; arranges a ‘ Sammelan’ ; honour s deserving artists, etc;
The achievements of Shri Jeetendrabhai can be enumerated as under:
- Published seven books on Drama and fictions (novel) and Awarded by Government of Gujarat.
- Awarded by Open University, Milan, Italy International Award for Youth &Cultural Activities
- Received ‘ Academy award’ for Single act dramas by Gujarat Rajya Sahitya Academy;Awarded ‘ Kala
- Ratna’ Award by Cultural Forum, Ahmedabad.
Shri Jitendrabhai is having very close relations with leading artists such as Paresh Rawal, Vipul Amrutlal Shah – famous film director; J.D. Majithia; Arvind and Sharman Joshi, Padmarani, and many other famous Film & TV artists.
He has successfully performed many performances for the benefits of various Institutions, Cultural Organisation, in Gujarat and outside Gujarat.
Now, Shri Thakkar has firmly decided to lend his caliber, efficiency, acumen, etc to the service of Raghuvanshi Lohana Samaj in India. Such a personality has been chosen as the Secretary of Shree Lohana Mahparishad by Shri Yogeshbhai Lakhani – our beloved President.
